Croup
We went to the doctor's office today for a sick visit :( My son Marcus is not feeling well since last night. For some reasons, he just developed dry cough and fever which makes him fussy. Earlier today, his fever is 100.6 and with the dry cough, i know i need to call his doctor. I talked to the nurse and we were asked to come at the clinic at 3pm. Doctor said it's croup. Sounds scary: Croup. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croup
He said that we just have to comtinue giving him fluids, steam in the bathroom would also help and so is cold air outside the house (just make sure the baby is bundled) that would help him breathe better. No medications are given to us since it is a viral infection and it will go away in a few days on its own. I am still worried with my baby but at least we got an expert advice and we are not guessing what's going on. This cough is scary because of the barking cough, and the baby feels really uncomfortable.
Anyways, it's my son Russell's last day of winter vacation and too bad we cannot go out today. Marcus is not feeling well and the weather.... it's raining and snowing...ughh. Not good. It's a good thing that we already went out yesterday to chuckecheese with our friends. After that we got a satisfying lunch at imperial buffet. Yummy! love love sushi! :)
Hope my dear Marcus gets well very soon.

Shining Monkey update
Okay, so I did said that I will me more confident in using my bag since it is basically waterproofed. I do not mean that I literally have to test if it works.
Last Sunday, after the mass (at St. Mary's Church) we went to Solomon Pond Mall to return an item and to buy a gift for Sarah's 5th birthday. As we are about to go home, I slipped in the parking lot at the back of our suv. Ooouch! Half of my pants is wet from the slush and my bag was put to the test. I slipped together with my bag, both of our bottoms in the slush. At first, I blame it on the slippery area but, I realized that it was my mistake to wear my new oxfords. The soles of the shoes has no traction AT ALL. I did not realize that it was slippery, and all I know is that I'm so excited to wear my new shoes.
Anyways, inside the car I examined my bag immediately. The bottom/side part is wet and in some areas has wet dirt. Good thing hubby kept a rag inside the car. After cleaning it up, there was watermarks left at the piping of the bag. The vachetta now has watermark and I was so bummed that the shining monkey thing did not work. Hubby assured me it was nothing and I'm lucky that I am safe and the bag is afterall just a bag. He was right so I tried to relax. I joked about it that I now have to buy a new one LOL! After a few minutes, the watermarks are slowly disappearing and when I got home It was barely noticeable. I guess the shining monkey spray worked!!! yay! :D We can't tell anymore where the watermarks are. Whether it worked or not, i believe it did.... I know now that I need not to stress too much on an object. It is a bag, meant to be used and loved. Any signs of wear are alright as it means it is used and serves its purpose. :) *sigh* Live, laugh, love! don't worry, be happy! :)

Shining Monkey
It is used to repel water on leather, suede, and fabrics on cars. I came across this when I was reading forums about taking care of handbags especially on new vachetta to avoid watermarks. It's a little bit expensive but I thought that it would be worth it than getting watermarks on my handbag.
I sprayed it first on a new kitchen rag and let it dry. Then I put it to the test. Wowwww! It does work. The kitchen rag repelled water from the running water. So, now it's the handbags turn. I tried it on the sides of my 1 week old mono speedy 30. I was a little bit nervous but tried to stay calm and was so relieved as I watch the product dries quickly on the leather. :D
I sprayed 2 coatings on my bag and let it dry very well. So, tomorrow I will be more confident to use my bag without thinking that it cannot get wet. I will still be careful with the bag but, If accidents happen or it rains a little bit I know that I don't have to worry that much. :)

Sushi Overload!
It's our anniversary today as bf/gf and we decided to go on a date.... actually it's more of a lunch out because we brought along our 9months baby with us. Anyway, no doubt that we are craving for sushi... and what comes to mind? Minado http://www.minado.com/ The ultimate sushi & seafood buffet.
This is me with my second plate.
Hubby's plate.
They offer a wide variety of sushi for which i haven't got the chance to try all. I am so full.... to the max. Hubby felt the same way. We paid $17.50 each for the lunch buffet and if you are a fan of sushi.... like us, Minado is definitely worth the try. ;-)

Hearts day!
Date day, Cards. Flowers. Chocolates. Gifts like watches, jewelry, purse, belt, bags and so on.
IT'S VALENTINES DAY!!!
Absolutely one of my favorite time of the year where i get to celebrate with my Valentino's.
Hubby gave me his Valentines gift 2 days in advance (the night before Valentine weekend) i'm really ecstatic. Probably he's excited to give it to me 'coz he knows i would love them. So I also gave him his gift, I knew he liked those and giving it in advance is just fair enough.
Love my new bag! Hubby liked his new watch. Love you hubby!!!
Here's a pic of my Valentine's card for my sons:
It's Cat in the Hat's thing 1 and thing 2. I saw this blank card and thought that it's so cute for darling sons. All I have to do is place their names in the picture, which I did and write down my Valentine's message inside.
This one is for hubby:
Now, I'm hooked with blank cards ;-)

Grammy's
I'm watching Grammy's tonight and boy do i notice Jennifer Hudson's new body. I remember seeing her from weight watchers commercial but it's just now that I am really amazed on her huge transformation. Can't help admiring her new figure especially she's standing next to Christina Aguilera, who now has double chin and a more bigger, rounder figure.
Jennifer Hudson (before and after)
80 lbs weight loss? that's wow!!!
Hmmm.... weight watchers seems good. I better read more about it and give it a try ;-) Just in case I put on some unwanted pounds.

Love is in the Water
It' almost Valentines day and love is in the air. In New England Aquarium it's love in the water.... soooo cute! I love to see fishes and other marine animals. My sons like to watch in our fish tank too. Each time I feed the fish, I make sure Marcus will be on his high chair sitting and watching them (if he's not snoozing). That keeps him busy for a while.
This is must see for us this year. We're planning to visit NE Aquarium at least before summer ends or probably this springtime. http://www.neaq.org/index.php

Feng
Hubby is going to work at night today and he's free for the day... so, where to go? what to do? I was thinking of going to Nordstrom to return or possibly exchange an item ( I ordered online) but figured we have to get something in Worcester, MA so, off we go there. We're done by 12:30pm and was already thinking of the next thing to do... eat LUNCH! Where to??? Asian food comes to mind, choosing between Pho resto or Chinese food buffet.... or Feng for sushis and Japanese lunch bento. Who won? Hands-down to Feng!
Shrimp Tempura Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll Maki.... yum!
can't take his eyes of it....

on the pic is an albino pleco, black ruby barbs and spotted corydora catfish. the pleco is an algae eater so i will just let him do the cleaning... for now =)
i'm hoping that my boesemani rainbowfish will grow to be like this. i will post another set of their pictures when they get bigger and more colorful.
i might give my dalmatian mollies up for adoption and get some of congo tetras.

i just got my new rainboots from zappos. got it yesterday right before picking up darling son in the bus stop. Crocs Crocband Jaunt Women's.
crocs online carries more colors but zappos has free shipment both ways... =) how can i go wrong? it was worth the try. i really had my eye on the espresso (brown) color, but zappos doesn't have one....

Fishes and B.E.P.
Today, we bought 3 Boesemani Rainbowfish and 1 Albino bristlenose plecostomus for my 29 gallons fishtank. I purchased them to replace some of my fishes that did not make it, so sad :( I was so busy after giving birth/taking care of Marcus that sometimes i neglected cleaning their tanks.
But now, I believe I am so ready to take care of my lovely fishes once again. I'll post some pics one of these days. ☺☺☺
It's SUPERBOWL XLV today....Packers vs. Steelers. My bet? Green Bay Packers ☺☺☺
What I like the most??? The half time show featuring Black Eyed Peas... they're simply the best!!!
Fergie singing Sweet Child o' Mine with Slash of Guns N' Roses. Awesome!!!
Food and Faith
My baby ate mashed papaya and spinach from tinola for the first time today, he loves it and i'm so proud :) I had to admit, I always give him the beech nut varieties and he loves it just as much. I know that nothing beats home cooked food but, the baby food i'm buying is pretty much pleasing to my tastebuds plus it saves me time and effort... not to mention its easier to bring it anywhere. His favorites are the sweet potatoes, green beans, squash, pears, applesauce, sweet corn casserole and also gerber rice.
Today, was also another first for my son Russell who attended his religious education /CCD. He was late for this program so i'm making sure he's learning about God and religion at home. I also bought books online so he was like homeschooling, aside from the books we got from CCD class. From now on, he would be the one to lead the prayer before meals. It really felt great knowing my son is growing up with faith :)
As they say... the family that prays together, stays together. Amen.

Just Another Day
i woke up late this morning with a slight headache. as usual, my little boy kept me busy waking up in the middle of the night. he feels more comfy co-sleeping with us than his crib. i can't blame him, sleeping with us is so much warmer in this new england weather.
it's another day for me to figure out what to do with my day. i plan to go out today, go to the mall and get something but, i kinda got lazy. anyways, headache did not last, thanks to advil and sudafed. but, it was pretty much another day of staying home, cleaning up a little bit.... the usual household chores and taking care of Marcus.
it was friday and i feel like its very plain and ordinary... there's nothing exciting tomorrow. each week there is snow storm since january 2011. yeah, not that happy with the weather. today it's a sunny day but not a bright day for me. maybe knowing that tomorrow it's going to rain and snow(wintry mix), uhhh... not cool.
don't get me wrong i love snow. i don't care much if the roads are slushy and messy. but, this time around? i'd say no to snow for this season. it's just TOO MUCH! imagine 50'in snowfall in 30 days!?! it's awful, there's ton of snow piled up on every corner. everywhere i look there's snow, icicles, snow, slush....
oh well, it's just another day.
