Late post: Pork Siomai

Two nights ago, hubby and I made these yummy pork siomai... one of our many favorites.

Homemade playdough

We always dine at Bertucci's Restaurant since it was Marcus' favorite place to eat. He loves the complimentary bread rolls and we always carry out some more for him. They also give away these dough after you sat down in their table for kids to play. Marcus doesn't really care much about those, not since last Thursday. He took it home after our dinner and come Friday morning he is still playing with it. It was already hard and looking more like a bread. So I know have to get a playdough.

We used to have a playdough, i bought it 2 years ago and i know i placed it somewhere. Apparently, that somewhere is nowhere to be found! So, I pulled up my homemade playdough recipe and it turned out great. Better than i expected and better than the store bought playdough should i say. 

  

I used my kitchenaid stand mixer with the dough hook attachment in making the playdough so i don't have to knead. 

And here is my son enjoying his yellow colored playdough, i used a combination of yellow and a little red food coloring.

Happy kid= happy mom! 

I can't get enough of him so here is another picture.

Next time will make another batch with red and blue. :)

one of the reasons why i have to make something fresh out of the oven is this beauty: 

my new white kitchenaid artisan, that came 3 days ago. i'm in love! 😀🍰🍪

and since then, i have used it to make royal icing, make a yellow cake and chocolate chip cookies. 

Did you notice the white book beside my stand mixer? It's my new recipe notebook, too matchy matchy? nah! they just look good together. 

i'm back!

a lot of things happened within the last 2years. from a mom of two boys... now, three boys.

Gavin my baby is exactly 16 months today. Yay! How do i start this blog? I just know that i cannot blog about all that happened in the last 2 years so if I'm lucky enough to have extra time this week i will upload some photos to highlight the past two years of our life.

anyways, I have a new hobby...baking and cake decorating. Yes! in the kitchen is where i belong nowadays. I've been spending a lot of time indoors so why not bake right? the long east coast winter and taking care of a 3 year old and a 1 year old can be pretty exhausting... so as a break i want to bake and know how to decorate cakes. (Whaaat?) i know it made me busier but, at least i learned to make something. I am now serving my family freshly baked muffins, cookies, cupcakes and cakes. I also get to have my own escape when i am in the kitchen while the kids are sleeping.  

so now that i am into baking, a stand mixer is a must! and i can't wait to get my white kitchenaid artisan tomorrow. we went to get one last weekend and went home with the yellow kitchenaid artisan stand mixer (they don't have the white one in the same model) but returned it that same night. It looked okay but not really connecting with me. I am still wanting the white one so I have to wait for the shipment tomorrow *sigh* i really can't wait.
